Gorgeous Ginja
“Ginja is an 18 year old
16.2 Chestnut TB gelding. He
was originally trained to
race National Hunt; I bought
Ginja in January 2000, aged
eight. From the age of 14
years, my daughter Emma
evented him and eventually
reached BE Novice Level, and
Ginja spent his winters
hunting with the Hurworth.
Ginja has taught my daughter
well, and given her such
confidence in her riding and
eventing and has even been
regional finalist for
‘Retraining of Racehorses’
show series. As a result,
Ginja is a ‘horse in a
million’ and he will end his
days with us.
Throughout Ginja’s
competitive career, we had
to closely monitor his
fitness and in particular
his wind sucking, which has
been reduced drastically
since feeding
HI-PERFORMANCE PLUS.
Ginja is also an extremely
fussy eater and I have
constantly struggled to keep
the weight on him the winter
months particularly, having
tried everything on the
market.
In the winter of 2006/07
whilst my daughter Emma was
away at university, Ginja
developed chronic
lymphangitis in his hind
leg, and to this day do not
know what happened. It was
touch and go, and Ginja
spent much of the winter in
and out of the vets. Despite
reading up on lymphangitis
and trying a range of
products, nothing really
worked.
During this difficult time
Ginja was shown as a Veteran
under the Veteran Horse
Society (VHS) and in true
style, Ginja went on to win
his classes, missing out on
qualifying for Olympia by
one place. It was a struggle
to keep the weight on and to
stop his legs from swelling,
which would lead to his legs
needing to be bandaged just
to keep the swelling down.
In spring 2009, my daughter
Emma was having lessons with
Victoria Baker and her new
Chestnut TB ‘Timeless
Jimmy’. This is where we
were told about
EQUILISER, and what
it contained. We then began
feeding the supplements to
both our horses.
This winter has been
incredible, with Ginja
having no swelling in his
legs, a much healthier
appetite and a much more
efficient digestive system!
This is why I am convinced
that EQUILISER
has worked and has
made this winter so much
